SANWIT
www.transport.gov.zaThe South African Network for Women in Transport (SANWIT) concept was born out of a need to break existing barriers for entry into the sector and demystify existing myths. From the deliberation and discussion it was decided to establish an umbrella body as a strategic vehicle to engage business and government on issues that impact on women development in the transport sector, including entrepreneurship. The organisation will seek to be a link between women and public resources in order to strengthen women’s enterprises. The concept was unanimously adopted and the Coordinating team was requested to pursue the ideals of the organisation until the launch. The Committee was entrusted with the design of the business model that would guide the establishment of SANWIT.
