The Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering (BSBE), IIT Bombay, is a nodal centre for applying science and engineering principles. In resonance with the department’s charter, the postgraduate and research scholars, with active participation from the faculty, started a quasi-academic body called Symbiotek council in 1994. Symbiotek Council arranges and propagates its signature annual event, "Genvision" , every year in a hope to unite students pursuing biological sciences and engineering from all over the country. Genvision encompasses a large spectrum of activities that aim at modelling the youth to work towards solving real world problems and to celebrate the spirit of ideation and innovation.
