New Avenue Foundation
www.newfdn.orgNew Avenue Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity founded by fathers. We are a grassroots organization. Our mission is to help create more meaningful lives for people with disabilities through innovative social, employment and housing programs. Since we were founded in 2012, we have created innovative social activities for people with disabilities (across all disabilities) & their caregivers (parents, family members, professionals & agencies). We will always stand with those who are different. We are proud of their differences and the value that each one has. If you are disabled, gay, a lesbian, bi, trans, a person of color, Latinx, Muslim, Jewish, a woman, an immigrant, you are safe here! Stand with us! We are proud to have started activities that include social & community inclusion components: Our Community Cup Coffeehouse is a venue in which we are building community through music & helping each other learn to respect our differences. We are a “pay what you can” coffeehouse, one that is for all people who are young at heart, including those with different abilities – all disabilities. Our social venue allows you to share & enjoy the company of others while doing things that you like. Food, fun, fellowship and great live music. Eat, talk, play, sing & listen to live music each week. It’s an opportunity to meet new friends & have a great time. Hiking at Tinicum Wildlife Preserve, Cooking with Friends class, Wellness Walks at Scott Arboretum Farmer’s Market where people with different abilities can sell their crafts & be a part of the community. This year we sold baked goods, coffee, and crafts, and were at the Media Farmer’s Market, Tinicum Farm Market, Aston Farmer’s Market and Newtown Square Farmer’s Market. We employed people with different abilities to help us. Crafters For Life – We have partnered with them to expand the idea of employing people with disabilities – to make the crafts and then to sell the crafts.
