The Afara Initiative (“TAI”) is a consortium of entrepreneurs that partners with universities, governments, think tanks, private corporations, and funders to develop future-fit African graduates at scale. We build innovative, holistic solutions to connect the objectives of all players in the human and economic development value chain, creating an enabling environment for young people to fully participate in society, as well as thrive in the 21st century. Our programs provide young people with the resources, networks, groundbreaking learning methodologies and opportunities they need to have meaningful careers, establish viable businesses, and build resilient institutions, communities and countries. The youth we serve go through a journey of personal, intellectual, and social transformation to achieve their highest potential and improve the world around them. Our mission is to equip young people with skills, competencies, support systems, and resources that will enable them to reach their full human potential, improve their livelihoods, and in turn, drive economic transformation on the African continent. Our vision is to see a socially, economically and politically prosperous and equitable Africa, driven by ethical leaders, problem solvers, innovators, and change agents that can revolutionize mindsets and transform the status quo.
