AKSHAR is an India-based Non-Profit Organization with the goal of "Getting every poverty-ridden child into school and ensuring quality learning for each of them". Established in the year June 2009, AKSHAR has a range of programmes that provide multiple solutions for bringing quality to elementary education in extremely poor areas in India. AKSHAR is an acronym for 'Activists for Knowledge Stimulated Harmony and Advancement in Rural areas ' AKSHAR Initiatives is the collection of various child-centric programmes run by the registered Non Profit Organization 'Akshar Welfare Society' and has an approach of comprehensive, scalable, replicable and cost-effective educational solutions. AKSHAR currently has its classroom learning centers in the rural areas of two provinces of India - Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and will soon expand its work to reach more provinces of India through its close partnership with the various successful professionals and organizations.
