ATEC is the Talamancan Association of Ecotourism and Conservation, located in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, Limón, Costa Rica. Our mission is to promote the local culture and social responsibility of the Talamanca region through ecologically sound tourism and endorsing locally owned businesses. We stimulate conservation through education and by helping local associations and families derive economic benefits from their natural resources. We represent over 100 fabulous local guides. Our community based tourism puts visitors in contact with trained native naturalist guides who offer a variety of interesting and educational field experiences.
