Since 1988 North Toronto Cat Rescue, a registered charity (#83607 9673 RR0001) located in York Region, has provided care and shelter to stray, abandoned, abused, injured, orphaned, homeless, unwanted and "dumped" cats and kittens. We provide all of the necessary veterinary care including neutering, vaccinations, and emergency or specialist care. Our shelter is the only no-kill, no cage shelter in the Greater Toronto Area. We are unique in that we do not re-release the cats back onto the streets to a life of misery. We provide a loving and safe haven until they find their “furever” home. At any given time, there are approximately 150 cats living at the shelter, away from the horrors of the street and the harsh lives they previously led. Over the years, more than 2,400 cats have benefitted from the services of NTCR and are now living the lives they deserve as part of a loving family. We receive no government funding, subsidies or grants of any kind. None of what we do would ever be possible without the support of our volunteers and the generosity of our supporters.
