www.bfcsfamily.orgBlack Family and Child Services of Arizona AGENCY MISSION Black Family and Child Services has a five-fold mission: Improving the quality of life for families by empowering them to meet the economic, social and emotional challenges of daily living Enabling youths to develop positive aspirations and motivation, and helping them to acquire necessary skills and knowledge to become productive, self-sufficient adults Serving as an advocate for children and families so their needs, hopes and aspirations are heard and understood by the larger community Taking a leadership role in working for solutions to social, economic and educational problems that threaten the well-being of children and youths, and Developing working partnerships with public institutions, private corporations, community organizations, agencies and individuals to ensure that children and youths have the opportunity, encouragement and support to become responsible, productive and self-sufficient adults The diverse governance, leadership and staff at BFCS are committed to providing quality and culturally competent services to diverse communities of all races that include: ethnicity, disability, religion, gender, sexual orientation and national origin. BFCS is also committed to providing interpretation and translation services in preferred languages when requested by service recipients. Black Family and Child Services of Arizona (BFCS) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) community-based social service agency in metropolitan Phoenix. Serving children and families of all ethnic backgrounds since 1984, BFCS is licensed by the State of Arizona to provide Behavioral Health Services and the agency holds a Child Welfare Placing License to provide adoption and foster care services.
