The company was founded in 2004 with the acquisition of a family business that produced traditional Cretan pastries. In April 2005 KRITON ARTος relocated to privately-owned facilities covering 3000 m². That same year it came up with the innovative idea of private label products. It was the first company to produce Cretan baked snacks under the label of a well known supermarket chain. In November 2005 it was certified with HACCP ELOT 1416 and IFS Higher level. Today its facilities have grown to cover 4.500 m², and it has modernized its production equipment, whilst still maintaining the traditional production methods of its products. KRITON ARTos cooperates with all the major supermarket chains in Greece (Carrefour, AB Vassilopoulos-Delhaize Group, Lidl, Masoutis, Sklavenitis, Metro, MAKRO, SPAR etc.), while more than 20% of its turnover includes sales abroad to countries like the USA, Germany, England, Cyprus, China, Australia etc. Since February 2009, the company's stock has been traded on the Athens Stock Exchange. As a result of its modern facilities, high quality, high production capacity and competitive prices, it is trusted by most major supermarket chains for the production of traditional Cretan pastries under their brand names.
