A baby carrier or sling Adapted instructions A face to face private consultation An email private consultation Sign posting to other appropriate local sling advice services Our Mission Statement The mission of The Up Project is to ensure that children in low income families who are disadvantaged are given the opportunity to experience the benefits of being carried in a baby sling or carrier. These benefits include but are not limited to improved health, well-being, safety and relationships. We achieve this by providing the child’s family with an appropriate sling or carrier and the skills and knowledge to use it safely and comfortably. Our Values Tailored Information– Recognising that no two families are the same and offering an individual approach to enable families to make their own informed decisions about how to carry their child. Taking into account any limitations and adaptations needed. Informed decisions – Ensuring that any information provided respects medical advice and input provided for the families by their healthcare team and where needed working in liaison with any professionals involved in the care of members of the family. Inclusive – We are a diverse and inclusive organisation and will not discriminate on any unlawful grounds in our work with partners, staff and families. Accessible – We aim to provide easy access to our services in a number of different ways and we have a clear accessibility policy. Safe – We value the safety of our clients, their children and our staff highly. All staff receives Safeguarding and Data Protection training, we also have safeguarding and Data Protection policies.In addition we work from the basis of safe babywearing and all information regarding carrying is provided by trained and insured professionals.
