Corinne Burton Memorial Trust
www.justgiving.comOur Story: The Trust was founded by Corinne's family and friends in 1992, and raises funds every year to provide 4 year bursaries for art therapy students in the cancer field at Goldsmiths College, London University and to support a Corinne Burton Art Therapist in Bart's Hospital Oncology Department and Mount Vernon Hospital for inpatients and outpatients. It has no administrative expenses and so all donations are exclusively used to fund the charitable objects. Some recent comments on our work: “This [art therapy group for doctors] has helped me relax in a busy working environment which I feel contributed in me being a more patient and empathic doctor.” Oncology registrar, March 2015 “It has been great to acknowledge and get first-hand experience of art therapy and to work through some of the emotional impact of our work.” Specialist Palliative Care registrar, March 2015 “I found this to be a truly valuable service, providing me with a patient, kind professional who has great recall of what he had been discussed in previous sessions. The service also enabled me to explore my creativity and explore my thought processes and how to cope with my illness on a day to day basis.” Breast cancer patient, September 2015
