The name was changed to the current 1950. • Are divided into 23 district associations, which in some competitions are grouped into three regions (Norrland, Svealand and Götaland). • Has currently about 1,000 member associations. • It is known that more than 100,000 Swedes every year participate in running races on road and in terrain, as well as over 10,000 - mostly young people - are competing in the arena. • Swedish Athletics Association represents Sweden in the IAAF and EAA.
