RD Robinson Construction was founded in Star Valley, Wyoming in 1954 by Rex D. Robinson. Known for his hard work and seasoned skill on heavy equipment, he quickly found work. At that time, most of his work was for the U.S. Forest Service and local land owners. But as the company quickly grew, he diversified into State and municipal projects, as well mining work. During the mid 70's the company's focus was turned to the oil industry. They built roads, bridges, drill sites, provided snow removal, constructed refinery pads and reclaimed roads and sites that were to be abandoned. In 1976 Rex's second oldest son, Eric, was ready to join the company. Rex was delighted to have his son on board, and knew he would be a great asset. A year later the oil industry fell on hard times. Rex and Eric made the strategic decision to expand the company's area of operation, in the hope that increasing market visibility and new cliental would see the company through the tough time. Their tough decisions paid off, and the company made it out of the crisis stronger than before. By 1985, after working more than 40 years in the heavy equipment industry, Rex was ready to take a more passive role in the company; naturally Eric assumed the role of President. Robinson Construction Group continues to offer superior General Excavation services throughout the western United States, and is always expanding into new areas of opportunity.
