DeSoto Memorial Hospital is a 49 Bed Rural Community Hospital located in the heart of Arcadia which is just east of Sarasota. We proudly serve a local population of nearly 34,000 residents. We offer our patients safe and compassionate treatment in our ER, Med-Surg, ICU, IV Therapy, Lab and Diagnostic Imaging, Surgical Services, Home Health, Wound Care and Physical Therapy units. We expanded our services to include a state of the art Cardio Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and have plans to add more services. Our Home Health Unit has received national recognition for providing excellent quality care, and we strive to reach new goals every day. DMH received an award at the Florida Hospital Association Quality & Patient Safety Summit Meeting on November 4, 2014. We are receiving the award for “Achieving the 40/20 Goal in All Areas” . This means that we have reduced harm in our facility by 40% and reduced readmissions by 20%. Receiving this award shows how dedicated the DMH staff is to providing safe and effective quality care. OB was awarded March of Dimes Healthy Moms, Healthy Babies award for reducing the number of Elective Early Inductions for 2014 and 205. OB received the Award of Excellence from the Florida Department of Health for Newborn Hearing Screenings. Home Health was listed in the top 25% of the Nations Home Health Departments for delivering excellent quality care to their patients.
