thefoodco. thefoodco. was created to put time back into the hands of our shopper and ultimately ensure we are providing an online shopping experience for every type of shopper, with simplicity and the customer's peace of mind at the heart of every decision, we allow for a personable yet high-quality offering. As a team, we asked ourselves what the value of an hour of our time is, or at least what we perceive it to be, and when we were asked why we spend two to three hours a week in the grocery store it really made us think. As someone that is probably spending more time than the average human being active it really resonated with me, and when I thought about the further struggles we actually face every time we go to a shop, it left me wondering if I was okay with the idea of constantly making time to go out of my way to the shops, where there is always a struggle to find parking, stores often don't have everything I want and ultimately I end up always forgetting one or two items whilst at the same time overstocking on things I don't need ( sweets and junk ) because the retailers have set up their store in a way to ensure they get every cent possible from my pocket. This is before I pay for the items, pay for parking, and ultimately pay for fuel and my time, EVERY TIME. All to support some massive retailer who has zero interest in anything else than their bottom lines and profit margins, there has to be a better way. Ultimately we set up an experience that caters for everyone, from the meticulous shopper who enjoys strolling the aisles and picking out every fresh produce and pantry items, the shopper who enjoys trying different dishes but can never find those products that can only be found at the corner China store, or the convenience orientated who wants to be in and out in under five minutes and loves the allurement of pre grouped boxes to top up the fridge and pantry.
