Retail Relate provides training and coaching solutions for every aspect of retailing. While numerous other retail programmes offer theoretical input, Retail Relate offers a unique opportunity for the independent retailer and retail students to gain practical expertise combined with the academic theory. Retail Relate is fully accredited by the Wholesale and Retail SETA (W&R SETA) (accreditation number 426). Retail Relate coaches and refreshes current retailers in the best retail business practices from around the world and also works to ensure the sharing of best retail practices with aligned industries. Additionally, Retail Relate provides much-needed training to those wishing to find work within the retail industry, with a special focus on South Africa’s youth. The organisation was formed in 2010 and is made up of a group of retail specialists who identified a need for retail expertise and formal support to the retail and aligned industries. Between them, the 14 Retail Relate team members have over 100 years of experience in the retail industry. Retail Relate has made good progress in the area of rural youth development, already having run two successful retail training programmes that have produced over 700 graduates with NQF5 qualifications in retail management as well as workplace experience. More projects aimed at rural youth are in the pipeline.
