The Eli Home

www.elihome.org

Mission: To welcome, shelter, comfort, heal, encourage and strengthen victims of child abuse and neglect, and prepare them to reenter the community to lead stable, non-violent lives, free from fear and intimidation – To Break the Cycle of Child Abuse. Overview: The Eli Home for Abused Children was founded in March of 1983. What started as a group of volunteers in a bible study is now, 30 years later, a multi-faceted faith-based organization consisting of 3 shelter facilities, a counseling center, corporate offices, a very successful social enterprise and a place-based initiative program. Throughout The Eli Home’s history, our organization has a track record of innovation and cutting edge solutions, while at the same time having a culture of a “spirit of excellence” in the services we provide. Our shelter homes are all located in wonderful neighborhoods and are beautifully appointed, furnished and decorated. Eli’s premise is to offer the best to those who need it the most. To offset the feelings of being “throw-away members of society” our children are given something to aspire to – to have, to be, and to achieve. The wonderful thing about being a veteran organization is that many of the children who lived at The Eli Home so many years ago are now adults and have children of their own. They tell us how they remember The Eli Home and how it changed their lives. Eli has received numerous awards and accolades including the 338th Point of Light from former President George Bush and a Presidential Citation from former President Bill Clinton.
