Jodie Chesney Foundation
www.jodiechesneyfoundation.orgWHY WAS THE JODIE CHESNEY FOUNDATION FORMED? On March 1st, 2019, girl scout Jodie Chesney was sitting with friends in a park in Harold Hill, Essex when an unknown attacker silently approached her from behind and stabbed her in the back. Jodie died from this injury on the way to the hospital, she was just 17 years old. The story of this Murder was soon to grab the hearts of the nation as mainstream media widely reported on how this innocent girl's life was ended by a cowardly attacker in a case of mistaken identity. On 18th November 2019, after an 8-week trial at the Old Bailey, 19yr old Svenson Ong-a-Kwie along with 18yr old Arron Issacs were found guilty of this Murder and sentenced to 26 years and 18 years respectively without parole. OUR MISSION In honour of this wonderful young woman's life and to create a lasting legacy, the Jodie Chesney Foundation develops and provides prevention, intervention, education and support to parents, young people and those that may not engage in mainstream support. We promote the reduction and long-term eradication of knife attacks in the UK and relieve the victims of the effects of this type of violence within the community. Let's end knife crime culture in the UK!
