NuHi is a social enterprise not-for-profit training organisation providing substance misuse awareness, coaching and mentoring for individuals and education and training workshops for all. Our aim is to empower individuals, families and communities to improve or bring about change in their quality of life. Set up in 2010 by ex-users and supported by volunteers, we design and delivery bespoke training which we sell to work forces and the wider community. The income generated from sales is used to develop the skills capacity of the volunteers, building confidence and promoting self esteem, whilst helping the business to grow. At NuHi we provide volunteers with a new high through involvement and participation in all our business activities, whilst raising awareness of substance misuse, treatment and recovery within the wider community. To date we have designed and delivered workshops in Wales, Sierra Leone and Somaliland. We are developing, in partnership with two grassroots organisations in Sierra Leone, projects focused on individual and community empowerment.
