Thor Dahl Shipmanagement AS is a part of the Thor Dahl Shipping Group. The group originates from AS Thor Dahl, founded in 1887. The Group consists of: Thor Dahl Shipping AS, with focus on: - Ship owning Thor Dahl Management AS, with focus on: - Commercial Management - Business / Corporate Management - Investment Projects - Insurance - Commodities Thor Dahl Shipmanagement AS, with focus on: - Technical Management - Dry Docking/Repairs The Group’s main focus is on activities related to container and dry bulk shipping. The Group also delivers commercial and technical services to external investors, ship owners and managers. The organisation consists of approximately 15 persons, with presence in Norway, USA, Canada and India. The ship management is fully accredited with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 standards by DNVGL. The Company was established in 1989 as Jahre-Wallem AS. This was a joint venture between the Jahre group in Sandefjord and Wallem Shipmanagement Ltd., Hong Kong. A merger between the two major Sandeford shipping companies Jahre Group and Thor Dahl Shipping AS took place in 1996. In 2014 the Company changed name to Thor Dahl Shipmanagement AS became wholly owned (100%) by Thor Dahl Management AS. When established the Company provided technical management to the Jahre group of companies, but has since expanded and is now providing technical management, accounting services as well as operational services for various types of dry-cargo ships, including container vessels.
