TEA - TaxiEurope Alliance
www.taxieuropealliance.euTaxiEurope Alliance (TEA) is the first European association that represents the interests of the European taxi sector and gathers more than 100,000 European taxi drivers. TEA has been jointly founded by the major taxi unions of Portugal, Spain and Italy: ANTRAL (Associaçao Nacional dos Transportadores Rodoviários en Automóveis Ligeiros), FEDETAXI (Federación española delTaxi) and URI (Unione dei Radiotaxi d’Italia). TEA’s mission, within the European institutional arena, is to defend the taxi sector against unfair competition and call on policymakers to protect taxi as a Service of General Economic Interest (SGEI). TEA therefore encourages policymakers to consider new regulatory initiatives in view of guaranteeing that fairer competition rules are ensured, preserving the taxi business from the competitors’ unfair practices. Moreover, TaxiEurope Alliance works together with the European institutions to identify solutions and ensure that the sector’s voice is heard in any legislative proposal concerning transport employment, false collaborative economy businesses, environmental issues and, in particular, urban transport planning. The presidents of ANTRAL, FEDETAXI and URI – founding members of the TaxiEurope Alliance – firmly endorse these objectives and call upon other national taxi associations which share these principles to join forces under the umbrella of TEA. Only with the support of the sector as a whole can the taxi industry face the challenges ahead.
