In 1987, Charles Carvalho saw the need for a port agency counterpart to compliment the destination management services he already offered under Trinidad and Tobago Sightseeing Tours. A major concern was the quality of service available at the time may not have been sufficient to maintain current and attract new relationships between Trinidad and Tobago and cruise lines around the world. Thus, Carvalho’s Agencies was formed. It introduced a brand new framework to the industry which brought international standards and quality to port agency services offered in T&T. In the years following its inception, Carvalho’s Agencies realized the increase of cruise ship (passenger vessel) arrivals in T&T and has been dedicated to contributing to tourism sustainability ever since. We are responsible for providing port agency services to vessels (mostly cruise ships) that visit Trinidad and Tobago. These services include, but aren’t limited to, crew/ passenger transfers, Customs & Immigration documentation, chandlery, and communication with respective authorities such as the Port Authority. Our responsibility at large is to fulfill the needs of each vessel that visits our ports.
