We are the first Chilean company dedicated to research, development and innovation for the Lanthanides industry, crucial elements for the global technological expansion". WHAT ARE THE LANTHANIDES? They are a group of 17 metals used in the production of cutting-edge technology, such as notebooks, smartphones, TVs and electric vehicles, along with the development of renewable energies. In addition, they allow the implementation of new machines and medical treatments that improve the quality of life of thousands of people. OUR COMPANY: After finding an important deposit of rare earths in the city of Penco, a group of professionals from the Biobío Region created a method of Lanthanides extraction, unique in the field and respectful with the environment, which made BioLantanidos the first project to develop these elements with an innovative methodology. It is a closed continuous leaching process exclusive of BioLantánidos, which allows to recirculate the water and chemicals used in its stages. WHERE ARE WE? BioLantanidos entered its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), which is now in evaluation in order to build its first Commercial Plant in the medium term. Meanwhile, the team is developing the project's final Feasibility Study, which will be finished in 1Q 2019.
