It’s been over 10 years since we’ve started our chocolate factory in Kerkrade where our Willy Wonka - Chocolate Company’s head Chef - Toussaint started with our first creation and big pride: The Hotchocspoon! Working with Cacao-Trace chocolate was therefore a logical step for Chocolate Company to take. This unique sustainability program focuses on the realization of high quality cocoa beans with a better market price for the cocoa farmers involved. The fermentation process is the most important "ingredient" for quality chocolate, and therefore the focus point of Cacao-Trace. By the help of fermentation experts, cocoa farmers receive local support and coaching. Cacao-Trace also offers the cocoa farmers a premium for supplying high-quality cocoa beans, which they can invest more in their plantation, their skills and in their families. This fits perfectly with the Chocolate Company mission to make life a little tastier, more fun and more enjoyable for everyone! In addition, Cacao-Trace makes a chocolate bonus available every year, consisting of an amount of € 0.10 per kilo of chocolate sold that farmers can spend on their community. With this unique chocolate bonus, Cacao-Trace tries to achieve a better distribution in the value chain.
