The Kindness Movement
www.thekindnessmovement.ukThe Kindness Movement CIC is a social enterprise that is dedicated to promoting and encouraging kindness around the world. We believe a society in which its members show mutual respect and tolerance is one that grows ever stronger. We also believe that teaching values of kindness, respect, empathy and trust is a vital part of childhood education. These values form the foundation of human interaction and creativity, capabilities that are vital when preparing future generations for the 4th Industrial Revolution. On 11 November 2018 we launched The Kindness Book, a free educational resource for primary school teachers to introduce the topic of kindness in classrooms. The book invites children to recall small acts of kindness with each other through drawing and writing. By using the Kindness Book we believe children will learn how small acts of kindness are carried throughout a community. Through the process of recalling their own personal stories, children will come to see how kindness is an important aspect of society and is shared by all members. Besides our book, The Kindness Movement also provides teachers with free educational material such example lesson plans, as well as guidance on how the Kindness Book covers national curriculum objectives. The Kindness Book is now being used in over 300 schools across 12 countries.
