Ellison Bronze originated the balanced door and has manufactured custom bronze, stainless steel, aluminum and steel doors since 1932. Ellison doors have been installed worldwide with the earliest continuing to operate today. Balanced doors were designed to overcome the effects of stack action and wind pressure. Because the two edges swing in opposite directions, pressures on the in-swinging surface counterbalances the pressures on the out-swinging surface, making balanced doors easy to open and permitting the use of large, heavy doors. Concealed overhead power operation is also available. Doors can be produced in traditional hinged or pivoted configurations. We maintain a file of every door allowing for the maintenance of our balanced hardware for the life of the entrance.
