Engineered crushed glass can be used as a direct replacement for most hard abrasives, including silica-sand, coal slag (aka Black Beauty), and garnet. GlassBlast is approved by numerous federal and state government agencies and military branches. GlassBlast was started with the goal of making sure the blast media user stays ahead of future industry regulations. We want customers to have access to a blasting media that will always be approved and available for their needs. When the sandblasting industry identified the free silica problem associated with sand and shifted to slags it was done without looking into the heavy metal contaminants the slags contained.
