Project ‘Life’ is an organization which is a conglomerate of two registered Trusts namely, Saurashtra Medical and Educational Charitable Trust (SMECT) and the Indian Medical Scientific and Research Foundation (IMSRF). It was founded in 1978 as a blood bank with the simple but overarching objective of saving lives through safe, high quality, and stable supply of blood. Today, after more than 40 years of relentless commitment and endeavor in the field of humanitarian services, it has not only grown to impact thousands of people from the marginalized and impoverished communities of Gujarat, Western India, but also expanded its work into multiple development areas such as environment conservation, Thalassemia prevention, education, health and wellness, women empowerment, vocational skills training, and international relations. It is globally recognized as an established non-profit organization in India that is on an unstoppable mission to continuously evolve for addressing the emerging needs of the community. The foundation rests on the bedrock vision; to support, sustain and enrich the lives of people with particular focus on the marginalized, deprived and underprivileged sections of the society.
