The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a not-for-profit organization that connects engineers across the globe to share knowledge, develop their careers, network and more. ASME was founded in 1880 by a small group of industrialists and since then has grown to include over 100,000 members. The Florida International University (FIU) student section of ASME started back in 2015. Today, we have about 30 active members and three different technical areas of focus our members can participate in to broaden their horizons beyond what is learned in the classroom.
