smith.queensu.caThe Centre for Social Impact at Smith School of Business was founded in 2004. The work of the Centre focuses around three key areas: integrity, innovation, and investment. Our mission: to educate students and foster research, outreach, and advocacy on responsible leadership. We have four major purposes: 1. Educate a generation of globally responsible leaders. 2. Foster high-quality research to build knowledge on topics related to the successful formation and implementation of Responsible Leadership practice strategies. 3. Support the non-profit community. 4. Be a global advocate for Responsible Leadership by working on the world stage to better understand the challenges associated with globally responsible leadership and developing new and better ways to train future and current managers. The Centre for Social Impact offers a Certificate in Social Impact program for students enrolled in the Queen’s Commerce, full time, Executive and Accelerated MBA programs. The Certificate programs offer participating students an opportunity to augment their degrees with an exciting experience-based, integrative exposure to the dynamic field of socially responsible leadership. Those who complete the requirements for the Certificate will bring to their employers an in-depth understanding of leading-edge thinking and practice on strategic dilemmas and opportunities regarding Socially Responsible Leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility.
