As of the end of 2017, SIG manages over $600k of assets, split among three different portfolios. The funds are composed primarily of equity securities and cash. SIG was initially founded in 2002 with a donation by Colonel Guy M. Cloud, Junior. The Colonel Guy M. Cloud, Junior and Patricia Cloud Student-Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) at the University of North Texas gives students the opportunity to experience investing, learn about investment related topics, and empowers students both academically and professionally. The goal of the investment fund is to grow its value to at least $1,000,000 for provision of scholarships to UNT students.
