World Hernia Project
www.worldherniaproject.comOur mission is to enable surgery critical to global health by supplying mesh for groin hernia repair at a price accessible to all. The World Hernia Project was formed in the pursuit of making critical surgical materials accessible to individuals across socioeconomic classes, around the globe. This project was developed at MIT and Stanford, with funding supplied by a development grant. Our knitted, monofilament, macroporous, polypropylene surgical mesh has the same design, strength, and porosity as that marketed by major medical device manufacturers, but at a fraction of the price. It is supplied clean, individually packaged, meets ISO-10993 biocompatibility standards, and is autoclavable and gas (EtO) sterilizable.
