HBB (the trading name of High Tech Bristol and Bath CIC) works with high tech companies in the Bristol and Bath region promoting, enhancing and developing technology. We do this by running Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that bring together companies, universities, research institutions, public sector, and not-for-profit organisations. We were established by the High Tech Sector group at the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership. This group determined that an action orientated organisation was needed to enact the outcome of their discussions. It was agreed that a Community Interest Company would have the freedom to act quickly (as an independent, private sector organisation), but maintain the responsibility to support and develop the high tech sector.
