Sapien LLC is the creator of the world's first open source sensory substitution and sensory augmentation development platform for Arduino. Available only on kickstarter, the Cthulhu Shield lets anyone do neuromodulation and sensory substitution research, or create their own tongue-based computer interfaces. Our internal R&D efforts follow 3 tenets, -Enable -Augment -Evolve As machines become a larger part of the workforce and our lives, we at Sapien aim to search for and develop new ways to use technology to enable and enhance people, instead of replacing them. Our ongoing work centers on neurostimulation and human machine interfaces. Our work with Colorado State University has been published in Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, and has resulted in our two issued US patents. Sapien LLC offers design and development services and performs our own internal research and product development.
