After having worked in learning and development in manufacturing for many years it started to be become clear to us that many of the traditional ways of training were just not delivering the changes in what people did that was really necessary in order to yield a return on investment. The realisation was that in order for any business improvement activity to be effective, whether that be based upon lean six sigma or any other methodology, to deliver sustained change people need to take ownership of improving the way they do things, they need some underpinning knowledge and skills and they need the supporting conditions in place to encourage the right behaviours. After thinking about this for a while, doing some research and speaking to our clients we developed ProPeC®. The ProPeC® approach attacks the need to improve and change from a perspective that says the only way to do this in a sustainable way is through your people. It is the behaviour of your managers, your operatives, your team leaders etc. that will determine the success or failure of everything you try to do.
