Melville Orton & Lewis solicitors first commenced practice under this name in Hamilton in 1962. The firm succeeded the practice of Melville and Miller with the initial partners being Mr. Don Melville, Mr. Hal Orton and Mr. Gordon Lewis. Our practice in Casterton commenced with the establishment of the Casterton office in 1965. The firm was further strengthened by the acquisition of the Coleraine practices of Mr. W. E. Taylor in 1970 and Mr. J. W. Nash in 1972. The current directors of the practice are Noel Kennedy, Jessica Dowdy and Natalie Bawden. The firm continues to develop and implement appropriate procedures and modern technologies to keep it at the forefront of providers of legal services in the Western District. Each legal practitioner undertakes ongoing professional development to further enhance his or her skills gained through considerable experience in their area of expertise.
