Sea-Chem is a limited company based in a converted barn in the Shropshire countryside. We manufacture and market a portfolio of seaweed-based products for a wide range of applications, including brownfield regeneration, industrial cleaning, wastewater treatment and agriculture/horticulture. We also produce a variety of seaweed-based consumables for the home and garden market. Sea Power 101 is our unique seaweed-based media for the remediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated soils. It acts in two ways: by stimulating the microbes that are key to the bioremediation with essential micronutrients; and by helping to increase the bioavailability of contaminants using natural surfactants. Recently, we have also developed BioBoost - a blend of hydrocarbon-digesting bacteria - which combines with Sea Power 101 in a novel and highly effective synergistic system for soil remediation. We currently work alongside some of the UK's leading brownfield contractors. Elsewhere, we utilise the unique biological properties of seaweed in other ways - particular the capacity of its surfactants to act as an organic alternative to chemical cleaners and degreasers. As such, we have a variety of products suited to professional oven cleaners, industrial washing systems, warehouse cleaning jobs, wastewater treatment, and home and garden products for the household market.
