The purpose of the Authority, is to “. . . promote and expand for the public good and welfare, industry and trade within Butts County and reduce unemployment to the greatest extent possible. . . .” The Development Authority is a seven member board, appointed by the Butts County Board of Commissioners, who serve to market the county to industries looking to locate within Butts County.
