Set up in Nov. 1981, SINOPEC was one of the first super size economic complex across different industrial branches in China, and later it became a subsidiary of China Petroleum & Petrochemical Corporation (SINOPEC). SINOPEC is located in Pudong New District, Shanghai, occupying an area of 4.2 square kilometers and operating 75 production plants with the main product series including gasoline, jet fuel, diesel fuel, base stock for lube oil, paraffin wax, synthetic rubber, commodity organic chemicals, synthetic plastics, and fine chemicals etc. The company’s current nameplate capacity includes 1.13Mt/a of refinery throughput, more than 600 kt/a of petrochemical products output and a self-owned 195 MW electric power plant. In addition, SINOPEC owns an engineering company, a supply & marketing division, an employee training center, an occupational disease control clinic etc. The fixed assets of SINOPEC reached RMBY 12.8 billions, with sales revenue of RMBY 36.7 billions.
