ProvokeWoke is a platform that seeks to promote productive and respectful conversation about racial and ethnic issues on an international scale. We hope to engage young movers, shakers and change-makers who are not content with the world as it is, to unite and mobilise in provoking change. ProvokeWoke is a storytelling platform for young people of color and so much more, dedicated to showcasing their voices and stories straight from their own lips and fingertips. No one, not the media, nor politics, could better represent their experiences than those who lived them daily. ProvokeWoke aims to educate, inspire and empower young people to take life into their own hands and make change in the international community. ProvokeWoke works in three branches; inspiring youth through spoken word and events (SpokeWoke), written pieces and magazines (WroteWoke) and through political lobbying and campaigning. As of May 2018, we work with 125 members aged between 12-24, partner with 4 schools in the Sydney area and are associated with 2 government councils.
