Garth Bayley Art
www.garthbayley.co.ukGarth Bayley is inspired by capturing a moment in time. This has translated into a varied collection of paintings from cycling and horse racing to dance, nature and portraits. Garth’s work is bold in expression, colourful and full of movement. Garth has exhibited widely, is represented by a number of UK galleries and his work is in private collections across the UK, mainland Europe, USA, South Africa, Australia and also Singapore. His work has regularly been shown in corporate venues and he currently has a piece hanging in a large corporate bank in London. He has completed a residency in St John’s Church in Peterborough and was selected to complete a full collection for a new church building outside Washington D.C. He is well known for his cycling work. He has documented several of the major tours, the most recent being the Giro d’Italia. Capturing local cycling races is a passion and has led to an exhibition of cycling work at the Kirkcudbright Art Gallery coinciding with the finish of the last Tour of Britain. Horse racing has become a big part of Garth’s repertoire having previously completed a commission for Hamilton Racecourse where he created an oil painting for each suite. His pen and ink racehorse drawings are a different take on the theme and captures the essence of the racers. During lockdown Garth drew inspiration from his local area painting scenes from the North York Moors and Yorkshire coast. The iconic Roseberry Topping is included this selection as it can be seen on his hometown walks. Garth works in oils, pen and ink and pastel. Each method gives a different feel and helps keep the work fresh and lively.
