Capital Angel Network (CAN) ranks in the top five most active angel groups in Canada. Since 2009 CAN members have invested more than $65M in early-stage companies. For the first time, in 2022 more than 50% of Capital Angel Network’s direct investments were made in startups with a female co founder 85% of investments to date have been with Gatineau, Ottawa, Kanata and area based startups. This early funding led to over $500M in additional investment through grants, syndication with other angel groups, and venture capital funds. CAN’s membership includes more than 55 angel investors, 30% of whom are female. CAN partners with Invest Ottawa delivering SheBoot, a six week investor readiness Bootcamp for women founders. CAN is a Member of National Angel Capital Organization (NACO) and Angel Investors Ontario (AIO), collaborating with angel groups and ecosystems across the country.
