SHELTER Design Architecture
www.shelterstories.designSHELTER is an architecture practice rooted in the foundations of responsible design. With three decades of experience between us, we have translated what is wise about nature–its resilience and resourcefulness–into quality spaces for gathering, working and living. Ours is an ethnographic practice where design solutions emanate from each client’s unique story. These early conversations provide the groundwork to define a functional project timeline, aesthetic vision, and value prioritization. Working in tandem with the client throughout the design process we bring the sensibility of an editor and curator to spatial, material and construction simplicity. As practitioners, we place high value on an integrative design process and healthy team partnerships. By utilizing a guild approach with local craftsmen and design consultants, SHELTER leverages mutual knowledge and the shared pursuit of a common goal: the client’s vision. We measure our efficacy through two lenses: the quality of relationships that we build with each project, and a resulting architecture that ages with grace and ease for many decades.
