LSIAE manages and performs research projects in the fields of agrarian economics, rural and sustainable development. Furthermore, the LSIAE provides public service under governmental mandate as liaison agency of Farm Account Data Network and Agricultural and Food Price Reporting. As non-profit institution LSIAE has received financing for activities from the different sources: grants or funded projects of Latvian Council of Science; EU research Framework Programmes; state budget through annual subsidies for public services; other projects received through tenders. LSIAE has much experience in managing and performing wide range national and international research projects in the field of agriculture, food and rural development. It is attested by participation of LSIAE in the EU research Framework Programmes, as partner, under FP5, FP6 and FP7, and several EU funded projects.
