Cytotheryx is a biomedical research company focused on the development of a consistent, high-quality source of primary human hepatocytes and the application of those cells for multiple research and clinical applications. Human hepatocytes are used in metabolic and toxicology studies in drug development, hepatitis research and liver-specific disease research, but the limited supply restricts broader applications. The foundational science being developed at Cytotheryx will relieve the restriction and enable applications in liver assist devices, cell and gene therapy, drug delivery and allotransplantation.
