JAN Trust is a multi-award winning charity that works at grassroots level with the aim of encouraging, educating and empowering marginalised and vulnerable women and young people from Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) backgrounds to support themselves and their families and to play a positive and active role in society. We campaign and develop strategies and projects to combat the following issues: - Radicalisation and Extremism with mothers and in schools with pupils, parents, teachers and governors. We are at the forefront of this work via our highly acclaimed Web Guardians(TM) programme - www.webguardians.org - Hate Crime - www.saynotohatecrime.org - Forced Marriages - www.forcedmarriages.org - Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). A range of training, services and projects are delivered to support and develop our service users. We also provide policy advice and training to professionals working on these issues. The charity’s continued grassroots connections through the services it provides in north London and across the UK ensures it is responsive to the changing needs of vulnerable women and young people when developing national projects and campaigns.
