NIT, located in Beijing's Chaoyang District, is a Sino-Australian joint-venture of educational cooperation between Australia and the People's Republic of China. NIT is approved by the Education Commission of the Beijing Municipal Government, registered within the Education Ministry of China and accredited by the Australian Government. It is the only school in China that provides courses based on the Australian Curriculum that are delivered in English. NIT was originally founded by the NIT Education Group, which is a multinational education corporation based in Perth, Australia. The NIT Education Group came to China in 1997 with the vision of creating a world-class international education centre. They constructed the CBD International Education Park, consisting of NIT, AISB, CAES and BIS. These four different international schools supply both English and bilingual (Chinese and English) programs tor kindergarten all the way to diploma level.
