The Saint Joseph County Minority Health Coalition (SJCMHC) is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1996 by grass roots community volunteers and health professionals and organizations that were concerned about the disparities and access to equal health care for ethnic minorities. SJCMHC is an affiliate of the Indiana Minority Health Coalition, Indianapolis, which exists to eliminate health disparities among minority populations. We are one of 15 such coalitions across the state located in counties with large minority populations. SJCMHC strives to promote minority health through advocacy, service delivery, public relations, research and leadership, and to provide community representation for medically under-served individuals. In that way, we hope to find workable solutions for personal, family and community health problems.
