Community Systems Group was founded in 1999 with a passion for solving community problems. For the past decade, CSG has supported foundations, government organizations, universities, and local partnerships as they tried to create better lives for everyone in the community. CSG has worked to reduce teen pregnancy, improve nutrition, increase physical activity, promote early childhood development and education, eliminate poverty, increase literacy, prevent crime, and fight drug abuse. While CSG has expertise in each of these specific areas, our specialty and passion is the process of solving community problems. The technology that supports it. The skills required by those who lead it. The systems that outsiders such as funders, consultants, and trainers need to nurture it. The evaluation that feeds it. The research that proves it works. To support community problem solving CSG has helped create strong local initiatives through our local community support business. CSG has created complete community surveillance, grantee monitoring, and foundation focused evaluation systems for our institutional clients. CSG has designed, developed, and deployed exemplary national training efforts designed to increase the skills of local community leaders and support their important work. A decade of intensive work at all three levels—community, institution, and large scale initiative, has resulted in consulting, technology, and training for community problem solving that works.
