Teplu is a business with purpose. The purpose of Teplu is to alleviate the incomes of people in rural and semi-urban areas. The brand thought of Teplu (short form of Ten Plus) is to make scientific concepts so simple and easy to understand that even a ten-year-old can implement them. Using this thought it helps women and dairy farmers learn about dairy product manufacturing, provides dairy equipments, inputs, access to credit and hand holding to solve practical problems. There are over 75 million dairy farms in India. Most of the dairy farms are managed by women while the men deliver milk to the POS. Commercial dairy farms face issues of price realization with increase in volume of milk. This leads to a vicious cycle of poor health and low productivity of animals. The seasonal demand for milk adds to the problem by further reducing prices of milk during lean seasons. Farmers & women lack skills to diversify into different kinds of dairy products. Hence they have no option but to accept the price offered by local buyers. Teplu organizes its dairy product manufacturing workshops in remote villages for groups of women and farmers. In this way Teplu reaches the doorsteps of rural and peri-urban people and provides complete solutions in dairy product manufacturing to alleviate their incomes. Teplu has over 13000 registered users on its multilingual online platform and paid customers from 9 different countries.
